No one should spend Christmas alone on December 24, 2024, in Zurich! Caritas Zurich has been organizing a Christmas celebration for over 90 years for people affected by poverty and loneliness who want to escape isolation on Christmas Eve or who don’t have enough money to celebrate Christmas on their own. This event allows them to sing familiar songs, enjoy a nice meal, or chat with someone in a warm and friendly environment.
Christmas in Zurich
Since over 90 years, Caritas Zurich organizes a Christmas Eve celebration for children and families affected by poverty. Every year, 250 – 300 persons affected by poverty, often mothers with children, are invited to celebrate Christmas together. On average, 10% of all guests are children with a multicultural background. Life Science Cares Switzerland supports its partner Caritas financially and through volunteer work.

This event allows them to sing familiar songs, enjoy a nice meal, or chat with someone in a warm and friendly environment.
Around 250 guests, including many children, are expected at the Volkshaus Zurich. This Christmas celebration is made possible through donations and the dedicated work of more than 50 volunteers. This year, the Caritas Christmas celebration is financially supported by Life Science Cares Switzerland along with other corporate partners.
What does the corporate partner need to do?
As a corporate partner for the Caritas Christmas event, you will present and promote the project within your company to enlist volunteers. Volunteers will work in one of two shifts to make the event happen. One group will help with preparations, the other group will support during the event.
